We Need Homes
Please check this page regularly for new dogs.
Here is a selection of the greyhounds available for adoption.
Not all greyhounds make it to our website – some are rehomed from the kennels – so we would encourage you to send an application and we can chat about a hound that’s best for you!
Please note however – at present – we are only able to rehome our greyhounds within the South Island.
HELEN
4 Years Old

HELEN (GO HELEN)
Introducing Helen (Go Helen)
Helen is 4 years old and the most beautifully quiet and shy little girl. To begin she has a gentle and reserved nature but once comfortable, there is a cheeky, affectionate side just waiting to blossom. She is very affectionate in her own way and enjoys gentle interaction showing a soft and loving personality.
Helen has lovely lead manners and really does enjoy getting out and about with her foster brother (another greyhound and their greyhound friends) - She is harness trained and this gives her handlers extra confidence and to support her while she continues building her own confidence.
She is a good eater and has good manners with food, the way to Helen's heart is with cheeky treats, she loves them and along with positive interactions and positive reinforcement she responds beautifully.
Helen would prefer a quieter home and if there was another boy greyhound looking for a gentle, kind and loyal companion - Helen is definitely your girl.
And the very best bit Helen IS cat trainable to live with a confident cat!!
Helen is a gentle and sensitive girl who is gaining in confidence slowly but surely. She is supported by her foster brother, while shy and to begin with she has shown lovely progress. With continued exposure and reassurance as well as the support of other greyhounds Helen will continue to blossom into a more confident girl who will be forever loyal to her family.
Helen is a beautiful introvert.
If you would like to add Helen to your family (or another of our equally awesome greyhounds - not all are advertised) please fill out the adoption questionnaire at https://kiwikiwihounds.co.nz/adoption-questionnairev2/ and the team will be in touch.
Massive thanks to Craig from Furtography for taking these stunning images of Helen and your continued support of our retired greyhounds.

TAILS
6 Years Old

TAILS (HOMEBUSH TAILS)
Introducing Tails (Homebush Tails)
Tails at 6 years old is a big smoocher with an equally big heart. He is social and always happy to share his affection (which he has in abundance) with those around him.
He thrives on human interaction and is happiest when he can do the classic greyhound 'lean in' for extra cuddles.
Social, gentle and kind he gets on with all the other greyhounds he's met. He can be excited to meet other dogs, but settles quickly and consistently displays social, friendly behaviors.
While he does enjoy a walk with friends, (he displays good lead manners and is responsive and easy to handle) Tails really does enjoy a good nap, in the sun.
Tails loves playtime and squeaky toys are a particular favourite and he will happily amuse himself with these. He is a bright boy and does enjoy enrichment toys also.
Currently in foster with a female greyhound, Tails has settled into homelife well. He is exceptionally clean, neat and well mannered. He is a foodie and is particularly responsive to training treats.
Tails would enjoy a home with another doggo for company, or possibly if there was someone home for at least part of the time.
As awesome as Tails is however he is NOT cat trainable.
If you would like to add Tails to your family (or another of our equally awesome greyhounds - not all are advertised) please fill out the adoption questionnaire at https://kiwikiwihounds.co.nz/adoption-questionnairev2/ and the team will be in touch.
